Duy P. Tran, M.D.

Undergraduate School: Xavier University of Louisiana
Medical School: Ross University School of Medicine
Clinical Interests: All aspects of Family Medicine

Life has been a continously exciting journey for me. I was born and raised in a small town in Vietnam. After my memorable years in high school, we (mother, two younger sisters, and I) reunited with my father in New Orleans, Louisiana. I spent about two years in high school, again, then moving on to Delgado Community College then Lousiana State University. It was at LSU that my interest in medicine start to surface when I met my best friend, and "big brother", both of whom currently practice medicine. After graduating from Xavier, I fell in love with a high school classmate (Phuong), moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, got married and settled down. Yet, something was still missing. It was my wonderful wife who encouraged me to pursue medicine, even it meant to leave her and our daughter behind. Ross, there I went. And PBH, here I came. I am everything my wife and children have made me.

In my free time, I love to hang out with my wife, daughter (Jacqueline), and son (James). There are many places in Arizona that I would like to take my family to, and I can't wait!

Phoenix Baptist Hospital is an ideal place for me. The residency is designed with the word "family" in focus. I am received and trained by no other than brothers, sisters, uncles [grandfathers in some cases! :)] And I still have time for Chucker Cheese (It's for my daughter. Really!)

In the future, I plan to practice medicine in various settings: city, urban, rural ... wherever that my family takes me. And that's one of million reasons why Phoenix Baptist Hospital is for me; I am trained for "all terrain".
