I was born and raised on a citrus ranch in Ventura, CA. I went to college near the San Francisco Bay at St. Mary's College of Moraga, a small liberal arts school. I majored in "the great books" and spent my time reading Euclid, Aristotle and all the great western literature. Of course a degree like this prepares you for everything in general, but nothing in particular, so I joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corp and did a year of service in the Arizona desert. I liked Arizona and stayed for 6 more years doing social work at a domestic violence shelter. Then I decided to change tracks, and was trained as a massage therapist. After moving back to the bay area, I opened my own massage business, and was happy until the "doctor bug" bit again, and I couldn't resist. I went to Touro University, and am thrilled to be an Osteopath. I chose Family Practice because I want to do it all! But I do have two special interests- international health, and integrative medicine. My free time is usually jam packed with things like hiking, hanging out with friends, doing "projects", and continuing on my quest for the deep, spiritual meanings of life. |
