Martin Krepcho, Ph.D.

Director of Behavioral Sciences
Associate Director, Phoenix Baptist FMRP

Undergraduate School: St. Francis College
Graduate School: Duquesne University, St. John
Clinical Interests: Medical Ethics, Patient-physician dynamics, Research, Complementary Medicine

The long and winding career road for Marty has gone from Pennsylvania where he was a high school teacher and formative counselor to Clinical Manager of Outpatient Substance Abuse counseling in Florida followed by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention research grants investigating Community Behavior Change in the early years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Texas and Behavioral Science faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The Phoenix Baptist Hospital Family Medicine Residency program may, in fact, be the ‘perfect career spot’ since Marty, his wife and children have vacationed for the last 7 years in Arizona!

His wife, Elaine, is a neurodevelopmental pediatrician working at a number of Valley hospitals including Phoenix Children Hospital. Byron and Kelly were born and raised in Medellin, Colombia until they were adopted in 1997. Byron is in the U. S. Army Special Forces and Kelly is completing high school looking for a career in ballet.

“One of the most fulfilling aspects of being a behavioral science faculty is the opportunity to be a resident advocate in many different settings—there is nothing quite like this joy in my career!”
