Dr. Forred practiced "cradle to grave medicine" in a small rural community of 1700 persons in southern Kansas for 13 years. He then transitioned to geriatric medicine with practices as a geriatrician in a multispecialty medicine group and a consultation geriatrics practice.

In 1998, he joined the faculty at the University of Missouri Kansas City as the Director of the Family Practice Residency where he has continued his interest in caring for the underserved. In 2002, he became the Program Director at PBH Family Medicine Residency. Throughout his career, Dr. Forred has continually been involved in medical education, as a medical school faculty member and clinical preceptor. He is active in the American Academy of Family Physicians at the state and national level. Dr. Forred is a Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

He is married to Dana and has three children and two grandchildren. Hobbies include flying, travel and cooking. Strengths: Married to Dana. Weaknesses: hate to exercise, love to eat.
