evaluations

Evaluation of a resident's skills and progress is an ongoing component of the educational experience at the PBH Family Medicine residency. Each resident is assigned a specific faculty advisor with whom he or she meets quarterly to review their performance on recent rotations and in clinic, as well as their goals and expectations for the upcoming months. Monthly rotation evaluations also occur - both of the residents by the attending faculty, and of the faculty and the rotations by the residents. Assessment of performance in the FMC clinic is facilitated by regular videotaping of patient visits, with the videotapes reviewed by the resident and two faculty members, including a Behavioral Scientist.

Yearly written in-training examinations, given each November, also provide the opportunity for feedback on the clinical knowledge base.
